Surprise, surprise Kdramas feature horrible sins.... that this Grandma doesn't think are so bad! Biggest case in point is the recent show Queen of Tears featuring Kim Soo-hyun in a fabulously emotional performance... I won't give the show away but Kim's character is planning on divorcing his wife when he learns she is termially ill. He chooses to remain by her side till the end and puts divorce out of his mind.
I found that a noble and very decent thing to do. He clearly was not happy in the marriage but was willing to sacrifice his happiness for the remaining months of her life. However, Kdramas don't think like me. Lying is just about the worst thing one can do. She learns of his plan to divorce her and is furious. No recognition of his altruistic decision to see her through the course of her disease; rather just terribly hurt and angry he was considering divorce.
Am I alone on this? Am I the only person who found his behavior decent and loving?
By the way, I rated the show a solid 10; he does just a fabulous job. ~ Judy

I interpreted his motivations differently. FL was a cold aggressive personality & was very harsh & belittling to ML & other employees. They didn't communicate well at all. He's finally had enough & decides divorce is better than living that way. When he goes to tell her, he discovers that she is terminally ill & will die within a few months. His reaction is almost gleeful (drama fans at the time found this problematic re: his personality) because this means they don't have to divorce, in a few months she will be gone & he will inherit her fortune.
