Judy has diplomatically reminded me it’s my turn to write a post. Hey, I’ve got several very good reasons I’ve been remiss, and here they are: Israel, COVID, jet lag, recovering from COVID and eye surgery. So now it’s time to **** or get off the pot, which bring me to my latest kdrama observation:
Kdramas are very upfront about intestinal upsets. I’m sure everyone remembers Ha Yoon-kyung, the actress who plays Woo Young Woo’s law school classmate, Choi Su-yeon, in ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo.’ In the series she is scheduled to go into court and has the trots. It is Woo who goes to Choi’s apartment and gets her a change of clothes that look like pajamas. Choi is incredulous!
But is that what everyone remembers? (yes, that's what I remember! ~Judy) I don’t. I remember an audible intestinal gurgling, Choi running to the bathroom, and the floodgates opening, so to speak. Would we ever show this on American tv? I’m hard pressed to think of an instance. Why, we’re so coy about bathroom behavior that we don’t even say the word ‘toilet’ when we know that‘s exactly where we’re going.
I’m thinking Koreans are much more open about bodily functions than we are. Pardon that pun!
Pat is exactly right on this! Audible gurgling..... hunger pains or churning intestines; hard to tell!
No surprise that there are no comments about this s****y topic!
