Pat: I am so fortunate my trip to Korea coincided with cherry blossom season. How many dramas have I watched that show the romance of strolling under trees that are bursting with blossoms? I think the answer is “A LOT!"
For those of you who only watch Kdramas on Netflix, here are a few to watch that are loaded with cherry blossoms: Our Beloved Summer, It’s Okay Not to be Okay, and Business Proposal. For the Viki folks Guardian: The Great and Lonely God is a must.
Right now my tour is in Gyeongju, the capital during the Silla Dynasty. I can’t describe how many cherry trees there are here, but suffice to say they are phenomenal! The trees are literally choked with the most gorgeous blossoms I have ever seen. As you can see from these photos, there are a lot of people enjoying the trees as much as me.
Note: Judy's trip will be in October & perhaps will feature some gorgeous fall color!
SO beautiful!!
Beautiful trees
Barbara, thanks for the fascinating article about cherry trees. It seems that colonialism/imperialism can raise it's ugly head in all parts of the world!
Spectacular! What a dream! 💗
Soooo beautiful! (Love how the title of this goes with that of the previous post!)
Have you seen this recent article from the NYT? So far I've only looked at it briefly, but this is where having watched Mr. Sunshine is good background!
