Pat and I have had many discussions about this. We clearly understand that some of our followers; okay, many of our followers, really don't care about Kdramas. Rather, they are nice people who apparently like us well enough to become followers of this blog. They don't really READ the blog but they're trying to be supportive of us. Actually we think you could enjoy the blog without every seeing a Kdrama...but it would require actual reading it.
Being the optimist I hold out hope that some of you might be mildly entertained by our musings. However, as time passes my optimism is fading. Why you ask? Because, with a few notable exceptions, I appear to be in an echo chamber.
Believe it or not Pat and I actually put effort into these posts! We try to come up with topics that catch your interest, we edit each other's postings, we get photos or graphics, and we try to make it interesting for YOU the reader. But, alas, we cannot tell if our blog is a total pain in the butt and you'd really wish we just stopped with this nonsense -or- yes, you get some entertainment from the posts and vaguely hope we'll continue.
Might we suggest a solution to this dilemma? Why not try commenting? Yep, that's an option that you the reader has! (Pat needs far less validation so she's more blasé about comments.) To help you along with this I have the following suggestions that you may copy & paste:
Yes!
Wow!
This is so interesting!
I didn't know that!
LOL!
You're shameless!
or maybe the best response of all
I have a distant cousin who is friends with a major Kdrama Idol who wants to meet you!
Go ahead, give it a try....let us know that someone is out there! Please?
I do enjoy reading your blog as I learn about Korean culture, but I admit (gulp) that I'm not as big a fan of Kdramas and don't watch that much TV anyway. Sometimes I just don't have a comment to make...but now I will.
I love your blog. My heart flutters when I hear my phone ding:) Another post to read!
Keep up the good work.
No comments from the folks that you scolded, I see.
Oh boy, I didn't know what they were called! But yes, that's on my short list of topics to introduce. In fact, the reason I was googling 'Under the Queen's Umbrella' was exactly for that! (I mentioned this in a previous post about Google & the images that popped up for me.) Stay tuned for this topic in the future!
I do watch K-dramas and enjoy your blog. I’m a fairly recent reader and wonder if you’ve ever written about the beautiful gold hair sticks (Binyeo) that are often shown in womens’ hair in the historical K-dramas? They’re often quite ornate.
