Ridiculously Absent

Okay, this is one of the few times I'll take exception with Kdramas. There are many shows that feature car accidents.... you know the kind; flipping end over end, being broadsided by a speeding dump truck, just horrific crashes. Well, so far I have not seen a single airbag deployed. And this from a country with arguably the best internet service worldwide, ultra modern amenties, and a very robust automotive industry.

Of course I'm smart enough to understand that in real life Korean cars have airbags. But this lapse in accuracy bothers me. I know they're doing it for theatrical impact but it's just such an obvious omission.

The believability about falling in love shown in Kdramas makes perfect sense to me.... but no airbags is a bridge too far. ~ Judy

Pat here:

You draw the credibility line at no airbags? What about goblins? Time travel? Being able to sit cross legged at any age? For the record I find the last one the most difficult to believe.

Pat, I agree. When I see granny’s sitting cross legged, I think that Koreans are super flexible. I wish I was flexible / I’m trying to do more stretching, but it’s not working
