Judy here: What's your bedtime attire? Are you wearing scanty negligees? Or are you making do with your husband's t-shirts? Have you given up and wear staid, plaid pajamas? Or, gulp, are you totally au naturel and hoping for some excitement?
Favorite Daughter is mortified at this point but let me expand a bit... I for one apparently like to toss and turn in bed. To do this successfully I need bedclothes that do not grip the sheets. Otherwise my nightwear will get all twisted and will strangle me; and that could preclude any fun activity my bedroom might see!
Koreans depicted in Kdramas apparently do not ever turn over in bed. That's why they can go to sleep wearing outdoor clothing like hoodies, jeans, sweaters, dress shirts & slacks,.... just about anything other than what I would consider comfortable bed clothes. Is that comfortable for them? I suppose if I were in bed with some of those gorgeous actors I would be able to overlook their inappropriate clothing but it's still a bit surprising.
And the photo below probably goes a long way to explaining the declining birth rate in Korea. Just saying...
We get glimpses of the leading lady's silky nightwear in "Misty," but not until episode 11 or 12 when she finally warms up to her supersexy husband of seven years.
I’ve wondered about this too! Stricter censorship for the kdramas re bed clothing. In some shows the team building dinners/ drinking parties show people too drunk to undress for bed. Somehow they wake up beautiful. That’s a whole other topic.
What I notice is how they're able to lie motionless on their backs when they're sleeping on the floor in the traditional bedding. You see this in the historical dramas or among the more traditional families, but I also noticed it in Prison Playbook. I was astounded that these men could tranquilly sleep side by side on the floor on their backs. I'd be tossing and turning all over the place!
