How lucky am I to have met Jeanie Chang in Korea and then to have seen her again at a book signing in Oakland, CA? I count myself extremely lucky!
A short recap for those of you who may not have seen my original post: Jeanie Chang is, among other things, a licensed therapist, a corporate speaker, and a published book author. Her book, “How Kdramas Can Transform Your Life” focuses on the benefits of Kdramas and emotional well being.
I recognized her husband when we were in Busan, South Korea (he is on some of her Instagram posts) and got to meet her there. It was so fun to meet someone I follow on Instagram. (Even though I was holding out for Gong Yoo from “Goblin” fame, he never materialized, so Jeanie became my celebrity meet up, and it was thrilling!)
Yesterday Jeanie was in Oakland promoting her book. The 90 minute session went by in a flash. She had a moderator ask questions, she answered, and then she opened up comments to the audience. It’s a fascinating story of how she got to include Kdramas in her practice and the birth of NOONA’S Noonchi. I could have listened to her for hours. Several of the women there had gone on Noona Noonchi Korean tours and a few others had watched so many Kdramas they made Judy and me look like Kdrama lightweights.
In the best of all worlds, all these women would be in my neighborhood and we could meet monthly for Kdrama dishing. Since that’s not going to happen, this blog will have to take its place.
Thanks for reading! ~ Pat
It was great to meet you at this event and experiencing the "jeong."
