Dear followers, I'm sure all of you have watched the Top 4 Hit Parade per the Gmamas and are looking for further suggestions on Kdramas we recommend. (Top 4 are Mr Sunshine, Crash Landing on You, Something in the Rain, & Extraordinary Attorney Woo.) Well it's really hard to top those but here are some ideas for you with our ratings:
Title Judy's Rating Pat's Rating
Hospital Playlist (2 seasons) 10
39 9
DP (2 seasons) 9
Navillera 9
Reborn Rich 9
The Wind Blows 9
I have a bunch of 8.5 shows so let me know when you've finished the 10's & 9's. Then maybe I'll share those titles too. ~ Judy
My turn. Judy's Top 4 Hit Parade (that dates us, doesn't it? Who remembers the Hit Parade?) is the same as mine. These 4 are the reasons we got hooked on Kdramas. For the next six, I've come up with my own list. Mostly I'm doing this to be cantankerous, but I'm also chiming in with my own because I didn't watch the following on Judy's list:
Hospital Playlist (season 2)
DP (season 2)
The Wind Blows
Title Pat's Rating
2521 9
The Glory 10
Misaeng 9
The Negotiation 9.5
Stranger (2 seasons) 9.5
Hometown Cha Cha Cha 9
She always has to do it her way...
Our Beloved Summer is one of my favorites! The characterization of the high school student was spot on. (Now I'm trying to figure out who WT is....)
Extraordinary Attorney Woo -- Resisted watching but finally did. I get the hype now. I can't stop rewatching it! So delightful and well done. I'll watch anything now with Park Eun Bin.
Something in the Rain -- my intro to Jung Hae in!
CLOY
I also really liked Our Beloved Summer. It's more than just another high school/college k drama.
I started watching K-drama January this year. Watched 73 K-dramas so far, all kind of genres. Watched three of your top four, have to watch Mr. Sunshine. It's on my to-watch list but that's miles long. There are so many good dramas and yes, it depends on mood which ones are on top.
The one that got to me the most was Hyde, Jekyll, Me with Hyun Bin. But that was on a personal level which lead to a gigantic break through. Do you know K-drama works therapeutic in a lot of ways. There's a lot to learn from most of them. It's never as superficial as US series (I can't even watch them anymore!). There's a US based Korean therapist…
Kathy mentions some great shows.... Our Beloved Summer is also one of my favorites! I particularly loved the high school 'personality' of the male lead. Haven't seen Perfect Marriage Revenge so I'll add this to my list! Thanks for the ideas!! And yes, rain and seasonal holidays will give you plenty of times to enjoy Kdramas!
I got sucked in with kdramas about 8 years ago with Descendants of the Sun…that’s one of my 10s. Healer is my other 10. My Beloved Summer is never on people’s lists but it’s my personal favorite rom com of all time. Close behind, .its ok not to be ok, CLOY, 2521, hospital playlist, reply 1988, attorney woo, perfect marriage revenge…I think it depends on your personal taste and what your mood is that day tbh!
