Judy here. I predict you will not see this in the United States. I think Korean men are braver and more comfortable with themselves than Americans seem to be. To test this theory I suggest you purchase a playful headband and ask the man in your life to give it a go and wear it on your next date.
In contrast to what I suspect will be a firm 'No Thanks,' Korean men will often don silly hats or character headbands and go out on dates or appear in public. They don't hesitate to put on birthday hats in restaurants to sing Happy Birthday... no macho posturing in Kdramas!
This Gmama finds it interesting they seem to be so comfortable in their own skin that this is not a big deal. I have three adult kids; favorite daughter who is actually just a kid in a grown-up's body (she would do it,) independent son (who probably wouldn't even listen to my suggestion,) and cooperative son (who would listen but ask 'why?') How about your family? Would they risk it?
Pat here. Judy, remember when we went to the fan meeting in LA for Jung Hae-in? He actually wore some silly ears on stage, and the audience ate it up. Clearly this is one of those cultural differences that shows how different we are from each other.
BTS's Jimin (I think he's adorable... just saying - Judy)
BTS's V (on many Most Handsome Lists)
BTS's RM (and all 3 are super talented & successful)
I would do it 😂
