After watching a few of these Kdramas I've noticed something different between Korean Men and American Men. Koreans wear metal watches. Seems to me like Americans have either abandoned their metal watches totally or strictly use a fitness-type watch. It's unusual to see larger, metal watches - of any brand - on American wrists these days. There is a distinct style to Korean men and the use of wristwatches is just one way they distinguish themselves! I've about decided I like them. ~Judy
Pat here, with my IWatch strapped securely to my wrist. In fact in all the kdramas I've seen, the only IWatch I've seen has been mine! Understandably many of these shows are set in times where there were no digital timepieces. Remember the closing scene in "Game of Thrones" where someone had mistakenly left a Starbucks coffee cup on set? Big disconnect! But in all the modern day shows, no one has any digital watches.
Oh, you'll improve with the subtitles & noticing things. Everything takes practice. Let us know what you think of the show once you've completed it!
Well, ladies, I'm finally into my first Kdrama series - Attorney Woo and am enjoying it. My only complaint with subtitles is that they leave me no time to see the settings, characters and details as much as I'd like. And a small FYI: I'm still wearing my small metal Pulsar watch as I'm tired of replacing my expensive fitness watches which don't last as long as they should.
