And here is why.
You all know my blog partner, Judy, right?
In case she has slipped your mind, here are a few reminders:
She’s the techie who puts the blog together. I send my posts to her with pics, and she makes it happen;
She’s the quilter who made Song Lee a fantastic quilt. (Here I need to say she is woefully behind on the quilted placemats she promised me.) (Of course she will dispute this.)
She’s the one who took her family & assorted friends to Korea. You know the one I’m referring to, the last 20 blog posts;
She’s the one whose culinary palate rivals that of a toddler. That means she’s not an adventurous eater;
She’s the one who likes to eat but doesn’t necessarily like to cook. Her kitchen is so spotless it almost seems like heresy to ask for a glass of water.
So today when I was telling her about a dish for tteokgalbi - Korean meat patties - that I’d made and she asked me for the recipe, I wasn’t sure I was talking to the Judy I know and love. What a relief it was when she asked what ‘mirin’ was. Whew. I had the correct version of Judy!
If anyone wants the recipe, it’s on The Washington Post website. It’s delicious.
How do I even respond to this? ~ Judy
This is cooking, isn't it? It's kind of amazing we're friends. (And no, I did not PROMISE her placemats... I just listened to her beg for a 2nd set.)
Sweet! Is there anything better than best friends laughing and loving together?
P. S. Eating Kfood from take-out containers is my preferred source, too!
How beautiful!

J: if you find the recipe, maybe our crew can go international and have a cooking happy hour soon…..
I know.... we even color coordinated for the photos. That was NOT planned by the way.
