Pat here.... Guess what, Kdrama fans?
November 29 is International Kdrama Day, and Viki Rakuten, the Asian streaming service, is offering all kinds of sweet deals to celebrate.
Here are a few:
Starting November 29, 10 of Viki’s most iconic (their word, not mine) Kdramas will be available FREE for two weeks. They are:
True Beauty
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim
Guardian: The Great and Lonely God (be still, my heart)
My Lovely Liar
A Good Day to be a Dog
Perfect Marriage Revenge
My Sweet Mobster
Serendipity’s Embrace
DNA Lover
Cinderella at 2 am
On November 29 there will be an option to purchase any Viki subscription at a 29% discount.
There will be a chance to win tickets to two K-pop group concerts, FIFTY FIFTY and 8TURN, both in the United States.
Live interviews, exclusive interviews, Viki chats
SOOMPI, the English language website about all things Korean, says there will be a grand prize of an all expenses paid tour for one lucky fan. However, this is not listed on the Viki website, and I noticed they had one other bit of erroneous information included in their press release, so I’m not sure about the validity of all their information.
It’s time to get excited!!
Judy here. For those of you new to Kdramas Netflix and Viki are the 2 platform leaders. Occasionally Disney+ or Hulu will have a Korean show but Netflix or Viki have the most shows.
And definitely you want to watch Guardian during this period so you understand why Pat and I are enamored with this show and its actors! Put it on your calendars!
