It's Pat! Yesterday we flew from Taipei to Seoul via Korean Air. It was an uneventful and unimpressive trip. The flight attendants reminded me of Stepford Wives. (If you are any of our Korean readers and find this offensive, my apologies.) They all looked exactly the same with impeccable looks and perfect smiles (think King the Land,) but here is where they diverged from the classic Stepford: they weren’t very efficient or helpful! When we got to immigration we realized they had neglected to give my husband or me any of the papers we needed, necessitating an extra long time to get processed.
The drive to Seoul from Incheon International Airport is over an hour by car and our driver was fantastic, pointing out many areas of interest along the way. He showed us the famous cherry trees, another plant that is the National flower (apparently a variety of hibiscus,) and even a spot where CLOY was filmed. (That's Crash Landing on You for those of you who are not up to date on fabulous Kdramas...)
After check-in, we found the ATM, the money changer, and a meat restaurant. The banchan did not disappoint! (It's a test, remember what banchan is?)
Today, we’ve got a full schedule with a lively guide.
But here’s my burning question: where is Gong Yoo???
Gong Yoo (undoubtedly looking for Pat as we speak...)
Ooo, cherry blossoms! I love them! Even though I've never been to Korea, here's a travel tip: Maybe you can find Gong Yoo on the train to Busan! 😁 (Very handsome photo of him, btw 😍)
Darn autocorrect - I meant gimbap
So happy you made it to Korea safely. I was concerned about the earthquake in Taiwan, but you must have missed it.
Try some gumbap for me. And take a picture of you putting the whole slice in your mouth - just like the Koreans do 😊
Keep us posted!
Pat, Really enjoying reading your blog and catching up on all things Kdramas! You're a great writer! Safe travels!
