Failure to Launch…

That would be me. Here is what happened:

After Judy telling me repeatedly I should watch Prison Playbook, I finally succumbed to her charms (I was going to say relentless nagging, but I thought that was going a bit too far) and buckled in for the 16 episode series. A note here: this series is from 2017, and none of the episodes are the same length. They range from 1 hour 17 minutes to 1 hour 39 minutes. Why, I have no idea.

Guess what? I LOVED IT! I had seen enough other Kdramas to recognize almost everyone in the show, so I felt like I already knew the actors. Lucky me, now I got to see them portray different characters. Here was Park Hae-soo from Squid Game and Jung Kyung-ho from Crash Course in Romance. Jung Hae-in was in Something in the Rain, and Choi Moo-sung was Gunner Jang in Mr. Sunshine. Believe me, there were many more, but these are the ones I immediately recognized…sort of.

Anyway, I got so involved in the story and the characters that when it was over, I just couldn’t start anything else. This also happened to me after I finished Mr. Sunshine. I spent days reliving the story in my mind and was genuinely sad it was over. I guess that’s why I watched Mr. Sunshine five times!

Judy here. Do you see a theme here? My very dear, co-author accuses me of relentless nagging? After spending years sharing insights and posts she still doesn't believe me when I recommend a show? I suppose I can understand it... Pat RAVED about When The Stars Gossip and gave it a 'solid 10' but her husband rated it a 4... Hmmm who would be right? After I watched the entire series I informed Pat I was in Hubby's camp...but I didn't delay watching the show for 2 years! I trusted her recommendation even if it turned out to be totally wrong. (I gave it a 5... and that was being generous.)

I’m now three or four episodes into Prison Playbook. I wish the lead character was directed to smile. I found his flat affect to be unrealistic and kit made liking him difficult. I don’t recognize any of the actors, but then I am not addicted to Kdramas.

I liked Prison Playbook. I watched it a while ago, but remember seeing favorite actors in the show. Glad you finally watched it:)
