Pat: I’ve been noticing no one in Kdramas uses cases on her/his cell phones. Right now I’m watching the second season of Stranger, a modern day Kdrama. Naturally, everyone has cell phones, but there isn’t a case in sight.
This is so different from here! Everyone has cell phone cases. We’re always worried we’ll drop our phones and crack the face. Are Koreans just more careful than we are? Better question: are we just more careless?
I think for the first time Pat has noticed something that completely escaped me. Now I'll be watching for this! ~ Judy
Wow! My travel agent for upcoming Korea trip is involved in this conversation! Thanks Song!!! I hadn't considered the fact that no case equals better advertising but you're certainly right. Here in the US I think iPhones dominate but in Korea I think Samsung is the leader. ((If any of you would like to help in planning a trip to Korea I can certainly recommend Song Lee & her Company GK HaB Tours; they've been very responsive! In fact Song and I hope to meet in person when our group is in Busan!))
Most of Koreans use cases :)
But cell phones in K drama, they does not use a case to promote the model.
That's the PPL.
One interesting feature is that middle-aged women mainly use leather cases that look like wallets, while younger people use jelly cases or character cases.
