Well, it's Sunday night in Seoul and I need to apologize. I had every intention of posting clever & witty messages frequently. But as Pat predicted, I am pretty tired by the end of the day and I have not kept up. Here are some snippets for you:
*Whenever I take a few days off from exercising (SPENGA in Tucson) I have a marked decline in my fitness level. Well, Korea may change that. I told the tour company 'oh, all of our group can walk a mile...' Little did I know that they would interpret that to mean Multiple Miles, Back-to-Back, Day After Day. And don't get me started on the stairs..... Just today I counted 129 steps to one photo spot... Behind me I frequently hear a fellow Gmama chanting "my butt will look good, my butt will look good..."
*Indeed, Soju can be drunk like water. And put me with a group of very funny, lively friends and family and the night can get pretty long. (No, those 4 glasses are not all mine...)
*Yes, Korea has great internet.... except it seems to be VERY localized. If I leave my hotel room I no longer have internet service in the lobby! For anyone who is thinking of visiting here (and who texts a fair amount) I recommend getting a SIM card for Korea. Trust me.
*And for a certain someone who stated 'you won't see any attractive man in Korea' I beg to differ. There's plenty of gorgeous men and nary a Kdrama idol in sight.
You can drink soju like water but it's kind of tricky. I always wondered if they drank as much as shown in K-dramas. A waitress from my favorite restaurant back home was in Seoul at the same time I was and we said before leaving we'll meet there. It was an awesome day. She told me the first time I came to that restaurant I ordered a bottle of soju original (the strongest one, I don't like the flavored ones) and they all were afraid if I could handle that (I did). So I asked her if they really can drink bottles and bottles of soju (although people always end up intoxicated and need a piggy back ride home 😀).…
So. You are staying up late with family and friends!
And, drinking soju as if it was water!
I heard you had a beauty treatment,
and you are noticing (and flirting with?) a lot of handsome men!
Sounds like you are having a great time! 😀
love your smiling face! Yes. Was hoping for constant fun reading your scintillating posts from Korea, but it is WAY more Important that you have FUN and we can be entertained over time as your stories surface after you get back. One instance of acceptable delayed gratification for me!!
Sounds like you’re having a blast!
I was surprised to get a text last night from my sister who was standing in front of a Korean food stand in Seoul enjoying tteokbokki😊. I didn’t know she was going to Korea. I need to keep better track of my family. I knew when the GMamas were going but not my family 😜
Judy, we’ll need photographic proof of the gorgeous men claim! Deb (joonchild)
