You would think that the Gmamas would be getting some sort of fee for this product placement, wouldn't you?
Pat here... I just saw the first EV shown in a Kdrama that I’ve watched. It was in King the Land which is a story about a emotionally deprived son of a wealthy hotel owner and his love affair with one of his employees. I know I’m making it sound kind of icky, but the story was
sweet and oh so romantic. He drives an Audi Q4 e-tron, which doesn’t mean a thing to me, but, boy, is it a cool looking car. The show makes quite a production of showing how it is charged so there is no question that it's an electric vehicle.
I often wonder if the actors actually get to drive the cars while filming. I googled this and found that many driving scenes are shot on trailers that are towed by special vehicles. Hmmm…I wonder how they do those crazy highway driving scenes. It must be the miracle of modern film making!
What surprises me in Kdramas is how empty the streets of Seoul are in those driving scenes. I mean, this is a city with 10+ million people yet there are perhaps a handful of cars on the streets? Just think how difficult that is logistically to pull off! ~ Judy
Whoa.... someone on top driving??? Well, I suppose it makes me feel better because the amount of time the drivers spend gazing into the eyes of their passengers is simply not appropriate. I'm always cringing & urging them to pay attention to driving!!!
I just watched a show demonstrating a 2nd driver's seat in a cage with steering wheel and gas/brakes attached ON TOP of the car for a stunt driver....with the actors being filmed inside the car..... 🤣
If it’s anything like a celebrity at the airport there’s a lot, and I mean a LOT of police and security around and they just block everything (still don’t know who was there 😳). So at a shooting location I suppose they do the same. I always wondered in dramas how they park there car, just blocking the road. If it was my country they would have got a lot of tickets!
